Hello! My name is Erik. I'm 22 years old and I'm currently studying information technology at the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.
I started to learn about programming when I was around ten. When I was 13 years old I dual-booted my laptop with Ubuntu alongside Windows. After that, Linux has been a major time sink for me. Besides Ubuntu, I have used Arch and Void.
My first "server" was an old laptop with a dead battery. I think it ran Ubuntu and was adjusted so that it ran with the lid down. After that, I bought a VPS with CentOS on it and used that for my project hosting needs. Then I got a thin client for free and slapped CentOS in it. That along with the VPS were my main servers for a good couple of years.
Now in 2021, I bought a used HPE Proliant DL380P and have since been collecting enterprise hardware. I'm running ESXi and I've migrated the thin client to a virtual machine.
